The environmental law attorneys at Meyner and Landis LLP provide comprehensive real estate, land use and environmental services to clients throughout New Jersey. We represent individuals, financial institutions, local governments and businesses with environmental concerns related to contaminated property; environmental litigation related to cost recovery, property devaluation and personal injuries; regulatory compliance related to solid waste, hazardous waste, air, water, pollution prevention and evaluation of environmental policies that can be beneficial to our clients.Environmental Transactions: We work closely with clients who are buying, selling, leasing or foreclosing contaminated property for the purpose of commercial, industrial and residential development. We develop innovative solutions to expedite the closing of these transactions and to reduce and recover the costs associated with remediation. We also assist in procuring public funding, tax incentives, permits and development approvals.
Environmental Litigation: We represent plaintiffs and defendants in cost recovery actions, insurance recovery actions, appeal of permit decisions and other environmental litigation in state court, federal court and administrative hearings.
We also defend penalty assessment matters.Regulatory Compliance: Our attorneys advise clients on all types of regulatory issues related to the investigation and remediation of contaminated property, such as we routinely work with Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), environmental permits, underground storage tanks, wetlands, stream encroachments, right to know and solid/hazardous waste licenses.
Environmental Policy: We work with administrative agencies and business organizations to comment on regulations, advocate for our clients before government bodies in New Jersey and generally work to promote policies that benefit our clients.
Our attorneys are actively involved with the Newark Regional Business Partnership, the New Jersey Commerce and Industry Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association Environmental and Land Use Sections, and the Stewart G. Pollock Environmental Inn of Court. Our lead environmental partner, Albert Telsey, is also the author/editor of the New Jersey Environmental Law Handbook (8th ed.) published by Bernan Press.
